Character Background
Unknown to all else, Hops is a member of a very secret organization which we’ll refer to as H2O. Hops and his secret order were among the first to come to this area and search for the hidden power. They found it and kept it to themselves. Once Hops got wind of his former apprentice, Fermen Taye Locke, coming to this planet and searching for the Elixir, he knew it was part of the Universe’s will.
His interest now is to secure the magical elements, and all the beer and ale of Willamette Valley, to keep it out of the hands of the Beer Sith and other practitioners of the Dark Side.
Having received the coded and encrypted message from Beer Scout Fermen Taye Locke riding along his latest scouting report, Hops is acutely aware that one of the fabled and mystical energy sources is at work in the Willamette Valley, and the reason for Fermen’s recent accession to fully actualized Locke Genesty evolution pinnacle.
Hops has been keenly following the Locke genesty’s process and progress as in their own subtler and unobtrusive way the Jedi Order has been doing their own absconding of promising Jedi for untold generations – not to the brutal and intrusive extent the Locke Genesty is pursuing their pinnacle, but still, a pretty questionable practice … so when the Genesty’s latest prodigy proved to be an utter disappointment, he took notice and when the opportunity arose to take Fermen under his tutelage, he manipulated a way to make it happen.
He suspected that the ‘utter failure’ was merely a misperception, and a nearly impossible perfection of genes had manifested in Fermen, albeit all latent. And the unlocking properties of the ‘elixir’ should be carefully restrained from being exploited by the ruthless Sith, and probably even the Jedi order themselves, as, well, rather embarrassing turnings have occurred in the past.

What is Fermen to You?
I could sense that my former apprentice was somewhere on planet when I arrived, but at some point Fermen’s presence began to change and could no longer be sensed. Fearing the worst, I am trying to find out what happened to my former apprentice.
Why not go to the Jedi for help?
Fermen has qualms with how the Jedi order operates, and actually wants nothing to do with the Sith either. After discovering that the Sith still exist, he has been trying to find a way out that doesn’t lead to his death but might also stop the evil machinations of the Sith as well. If that wasn’t enough, he still needs to avoid the Genesty’s attempts to “fix” him as well.
