Skittering from galaxy to galaxy, on his last dash hope for a career that will finally prove to his Genesty he is the pinnacle of their selective breeding program, and not the genetic throwback they’ve black-balled him as (with ample evidence mind you, just check out the checkered backstory of Fermen Taye Locke ) – it turns out that Fermen is actually quite good at ferreting out exceptional ales and brews, and has come to the attention of Beer Alliance Lords who are in quiet competition for obtaining this elusive Beer Scout and claiming him (or is that chaining him?) as their own.
As the beer stein analysis will bear out, there is something rather extraordinary about the energy signature of a particular ale coming from the Oregon Trail Brewery – one that Fermen has personally experienced.
Even though the private encoded messages are not immediately decipherable, they have been noted by other parties also interested in the whereabouts of this particular Beer Scout – to whit, the Locke Genesty who are desperate to have Fermen return to the fold so they can properly re-train him and correct the generic errors that he is obviously exhibiting (a painful process, and one that Fermen has been craftily avoiding for the last couple of failed meteoric career attempts he’s undertaken.)
His gizmo communicator has been duly filing reports back to his (current) Beer Alliance Master (which of course have also made their way to the attention of Beer Alliance Overlord Oasthouse) and in private coded correspondence to his former Jedi mentor Ambassador Hops – though in those private correspondences Fermen goes into more detail on the peculiar effects the Oregon Trail Brewery ales are having on his powers.

What is Darth Malt to You?
After some struggling to find himself, Fermen was recruited by Darth Malt (known as Brewmaster Malt) to be his secret apprentice and help him find the means to overthrow his own master, Lord Oasthouse, enabling Darth Malt to become the Sith master himself.
Why is the Bounty Hunter after you?
This wasn’t his first failure for the cult and he began to live in hiding to avoid getting taken back to the Genesty to be “fixed”. Getting “fixed” is a rather invasive process which could involve alteration at the genetic level, brainwashing, and more. A process which induces more pain than can be fathomed
Tell me about the Genesty
He is supposed to be the pinnacle of generations of selective (in)breeding by a cult-like Organization of Genetic zealots, The Genesty.. He is deemed a genetic throwback and an embarrassing failed experiment by the cult..
Tell me about your time with the Jedi.
It was by this cult’s ambitions that Fermen was sent to train as a Jedi. Fermen was kicked from the Jedi after failing to meet expectations for rising in the ranks.
Why not go to the Jedi for help?
Fermen has qualms with how the Jedi order operates, and actually wants nothing to do with the Sith either. After discovering that the Sith still exist, he has been trying to find a way out that doesn’t lead to his death but might also stop the evil machinations of the Sith as well. If that wasn’t enough, he still needs to avoid the Genesty’s attempts to “fix” him as well.
What’s wrong with the Princess’ overtures?
Under Genesty mandate and control, he is not able to arrange his own mariage, so he rebuffed Queen Consort’s offer to marry her princess. He’s secretly quite smitten with the princess and had he had it his own way, he would have welcomed the opportunity – if only he wasn’t so clumsy and tongue tied and just a wreck in her presence.
